HDPE Recycling Process at Eco Renew

At Eco Renew, located in Alberton, Gauteng, we are committed to delivering high-quality recycled HDPE pellets through a rigorous and transparent recycling process. Our facility operates under a closed-loop recycling system to ensure sustainability, efficiency, and product purity.

 

  • Collection
    We source HDPE plastic waste from trusted industrial partners, commercial recyclers, and verified post-consumer streams. This ensures a consistent and reliable input of raw HDPE material.
  • Sorting & Cleaning
    The incoming waste is manually and mechanically sorted to remove non-HDPE polymers, metals, labels, and contaminants. We then use a multi-stage washing system to eliminate dirt, adhesives, and organic residues.
  • Shredding
    Cleaned HDPE materials are shredded into uniform flakes, optimized for melting. This step enhances extrusion consistency and pellet quality.
  • Extrusion & Filtration
    The HDPE flakes are melted at high temperatures and passed through fine mesh filters and screen changers. This step removes microscopic impurities, ensuring a clean and consistent melt flow.
  • Pelletizing
    The purified HDPE melt is cooled and cut into uniform pellets using precision pelletizing equipment. These pellets exhibit excellent flow properties and mechanical performance for downstream applications.
  • Packaging & Delivery
    Each batch is bagged into 25kg sacks or 1-ton jumbo bags, labeled with batch codes, and inspected for quality assurance. Our HDPE pellets are ready for delivery nationwide across South Africa.

Processing Guidelines

Packaging & Supply

  • Drying: Recommended at 80°C for 2–3 hours before processing.

  • Molding Temperature: 180°C – 240°C depending on application.

  • Screw Speed: Medium to high (optimize for viscosity).

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight.
